Usually when I get a fever, I’d stay in bed for the next day just to play safe, but, Sagada is an exception. I already chose to stay in bed the whole day instead of spelunking in the famous cave connection, and seeing how muddy and tired they were, how can you not be jealous especially when you’re the one who planned the whole trip?
The next morning I made sure I had enough meds to take during the hike. I just cant miss another adventure!
Pongas Falls is just one of the many places where you can go to in Sagada. It cost us P600 for the jeep transportation and P400 for the guide. For a group of 10, this was such a budget friendly adventure!
Walking through the hanging bridge, rice terraces and villages, the trek was an easy stroll. The scenic route we took made the trek so relaxing.
But when we passed the village, it was a different story. There were a lot of going up and down and suddenly we were already walking at the edge of the cliff.
The trek got a lot scarier as it progressed. We were suddenly faced with over hanging cliffs that we had to slowly get through and then the last one big rock we had to climb to get to the waterfalls.
Finally! After an hour long trek, we finally made it! It was such a beauty.
What made this falls so unique is it had different levels. It was wasn’t pouring straight down, but it would stop in a certain level then come pouring down again. The best part? You can climb to where the water first stops and chill (more like freeze) in the ice cold pool!
Of course, everything that goes up, must come down. Enter, my fear of heights.
We had so much time that we forgot that it was way past lunch time and I think we spent more than an hour having fun! Eventually it was time to go, but looking back, Id surely do it all over again!
